Personal summary

During my research, I will dive deep into the mechanobiological aspects of laminopathies. I will be investigating cardiolaminopathic cell signalling in LMNA mutated iPCS-derived cardiomyocyte cell lines. Specifically, I would like to uncover the dilated cardiomyopathy pathogenesis of LMNA R331Q by including symptomatic and symptomatic cases since this LMNA variant presents with variable clinical outcomes. Cellular characteristics will be investigated including nuclear and cytoskeletal morphology, and electrophysiological features under substrate stiffness modulation. This will be performed in order to discover mechanobiological defects under physiological circumstances. (Epi)genetic features will also be investigated to identify potential modifiers.
